If you missed this year’s Race Retro Show, – you missed a treat  – it was fun catching up with everyone from the historic racing circles. This year the show sponsors were Reis Motorsport Insurance. Our man, Oliver Flower captured all the highlights for you to see, including some amazing cars on show including the Mike Hawthorn tribute and many Formula 1 cars both old and new. The Equipe race series organisers also had a stunning 50s Cooper Bristol on show, driven by Mike Hawthorn in period. Silverstone Auctions were on site with their classic race and road car sale achieving sales of £292,500 for the stunning 1958 Porsche 356 A Speedster, and an eye-catching 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GT Coupe sold for £270,000. Other sale highlights included an Aston Martin DB5 sold for £708,750, and a WRC 2007 Subaru Impreza selling at £189,000. Outside Spectators watched Jimmy McRae take to the Live Rally Stage in his late son Colin’s Subaru, alongside the ‘Rally Professor’ himself, Rauno Aaltonen in his original 1963 Monte Carlo Mini and the Motor Sport Live Stage was jam-packed with celebs including Martin Donnelly, Andy Wallace, French World Rally Champ Dider Auriol, Tony Jardine, Rosemary Smith and Anthony Reid, and many more.
