JAGUAR Mark 1 and 2 is the latest book released from Veloce Publishing’s Classic Reprint Service, having been out of print for sometime it is a must have for Classic Jaguar Mark 1 & 2 fans or collectors.

Nigel Thorley carefully walks through the history of this popular model year by year, detailing all the highs,  the lows and the technical developments of the Jaguar Mark 1 and Mark 2 models.  Starting from the original design concept in the early 1950s, through the devastating fire on the production line at the Browns Lane Factory in 1957, the death of Mike Hawthorn in his own bespoke built Jaguar 3.4 Mark 1  in 1959 right through to the immense racing successes both in Touring Car and Rallying which this model enjoyed throughout its life. Not to mention the adoption by the British police force and by the BBC for the popular Inspector Morse series even though John Thaw who played the role apparently never really liked the car.

The book is extensively illustrated with a huge collection of period photos of the factory and racing photos throughout.  The author unearths many fascinating facts and curiosities along the way, as well as covering the main evolution of the car, to become the most popular and profitable models in the Jaguar range for many years.
