Scramblers and Footman James combine for summer stunner

Hundreds of classic and collector cars streamed in for the Scramblers X Coffee & Chrome Collective Assembly on Wednesday 16 August, the first evening meet for both Scramblers and Coffee & Chrome and the first collaboration between Bicester Heritage and official insurance partner Footman James.

Combining elements from both the Scramblers Assembly and the Coffee & Chrome Collective events, the sold-out Scramblers X Coffee & Chrome Collective Assembly featured pre-war classics, archetypal British machinery, Japanese icons, modern supercars and more displayed on the historic airfield of Bicester Heritage, as the sun dipped behind the famous hangars.

Footman James has been a feature at Assemblies and at the crowning Flywheel event since becoming the official insurance partner of Bicester Heritage and will be present at the Scramble on Sunday 8 October.

All attendees were offered a free sausage butty on the night by Footman James, too, another carryover from the sell-out Coffee & Chrome Collective events.

Bicester Heritage residents Motor Spirit Ltd, the lubricants partner of Scramblers, and The Wriggly Monkey Brewery were among those in attendance at the Scramblers X Coffee & Chrome Collective Assembly, along with Footman James partners The Classic Valuer and Classic Motor Cars.

Alicia White, partnership lead at Bicester Heritage, said: “We couldn’t have hoped for a better first collaborative event than the Scramblers X Coffee & Chrome Collective Assembly. We are always thrilled to share Bicester Heritage with enthusiasts, and bringing our Scramblers members together with Footman James’s Coffee & Chrome members made for a hugely enjoyable evening.

“We’re already looking ahead to the next Scramblers X Coffee & Chrome Collective Assembly, do make sure to follow us for further information.”

Charlotte Moseley, Head of Marketing at Footman James added: “For some time now we have wanted to do an evening Coffee & Chrome meet, and what better place to do it than at the home of the Scramblers.

“We were thrilled to hear that it had sold out and to see Coffee & Chrome fans and Scramblers members come together for the evening. It was a great night! We can’t wait for our next Coffee & Chrome meet when we take it to Prescott Hillclimb on the 17 September.”

Footman James will join Scramblers once again at the upcoming Bank Holiday M Day Assembly on Monday 28 August. Limited tickets remain, available from the Scramblers Shop.
