The Classic and Sports Car Show debut at Bicester Heritage 23-24 June

Bicester Heritage, is gearing up for the first ever The Classic & Sports Car Show in association with Flywheel this weekend.

The all-new collaboration – which sees the union of two of the automotive calendar’s most revered and eagerly anticipated events, The Classic & Sports Car Show and the action-packed Flywheel Festival – will combine magnificent demonstrations and displays of classic cars, historic aircraft and military machinery across the stunning Bicester Heritage site.

The Classic & Sports Car Show in association with Flywheel will run from 23-24 June and is expected to welcome more than 12,000 guests through the former RAF Bomber Training Station gates.

What is in store for the new style ‘Flywheel’ event?

Among the aerial demonstrations will be a very special return to the skies for two World War II veterans. Maurice Marriott (aged 93) and Eddie Habberley (95) – who both served in the RAF – will take to the skies and back into the Tiger Moth aeroplanes that they piloted during their military careers.

The Bicester Heritage figure-of-eight test circuit will see plenty of action, with a fantastic array of cars and historic motorbikes dating back to 1924 hitting the tarmac for visual and aural thrills.

Taking to the track this weekend will be everything from an 1898 Marot-Gordon Tricycle and 1904 Cadillac to a stunning 1957 Lotus Eleven.

Plus, for the first time, Bicester Heritage will introduce the Flywheel Concours displaying exceptional rare models in the following categories: The Dawn of the Supercar, Movie Star Cars, Classic Rally Cars and Cars of the 1948 Earl’s Court Motor Show.

Elsewhere, Bicester Heritage’s Insurance Partner Hagerty UK will offer on-site valuations of classic cars, while auction house Brightwells will be putting more than 100 historic models under the hammer.

Bicester Heritage caters to over 35 specialist businesses on site, ranging from historic grand prix car preparers and magneto specialists, to dealers and exhaust manufacturers – many of which will be open for visitors during the show. Together they provide a supportive ecosystem which is revolutionising historic car ownership.

Dan Geoghegan, Managing Director of Bicester Heritage, said: “The incredible 1939 Grant tank riddled with bullet holes drove around the Technical Site last week, and has sat outside our Club Rooms since. It has given everyone here a scintillating taste of the dynamism and unique character of the first Classic & Sports Car Show in Association with Flywheel at Bicester Heritage this weekend. We can’t wait to see what other fascinating gems will be pressed into action.”
