Autosport 3 Hours grid is two-thirds full

The entry list for the Autosport 3 Hours continues to grow and the grid is now two-thirds full with three weeks still to go until entries close.

The Historic Sports Car Club has received a tremendous response to the race on the Snetterton 200 circuit on Sunday April 23 and entries have been building well since the race was announced. The current entry list stands at 25 cars.

With entries not due to close until April 13, there is every prospect of more than 30 cars on the grid for the 18th running of a famous race that dates back to the late 1950s. In period, Jim Clark (twice) and Jack Sears were winners of the Autosport 3 Hours.

With the support of Autosport magazine, the Autosport 3 Hours will be a three-hour endurance race for Pre ’66 GT cars at the unbeatable entry fee of just £1295 per car; that’s £1000 cheaper than some comparable 2022 fees and easily the best value for a historic race of this type and up to half the price of some three-hour races.

Entries to date are from a range of mostly under two-litre cars covering MGBs, Lotus Elans, TVR Granturas, Gilberns and Porsche 911s. Up to 10 of the entries are from family pairings, which will help ensure the race has a tremendous atmosphere in the pit lane.

The Snetterton weekend of April 22/23 marks the opening race event of the HSCC’s 58th season and already has a total entry of more than 200 cars.

Andy Dee-Crowne, CEO of the HSCC, said: “We’re very pleased with how the entry is building and we’ve now reached 25 cars, which is two-thirds of a capacity grid of 38 cars. We’d love to have more than 30 cars and filling the grid at 38 cars would be an incredible result. We can offer a very warm welcome to anyone who wants to compete in the best value three hour race in the UK this year. We expect more entries to come in over the remaining weeks and it is going to be a great spectacle.”

Full regulations and entry forms are available via the HSCC website.
