1983 BMW 635CSi Group A – FIA Historic Touring Car

1983 BMW 635CSi E24 built to Group A Specification

Here we have a super race car ready to race for the 2018 season …

Built by Geoff Steel Racing in 2015 to Group A specification from an original 1983 635 donor shell, this Marlboro liveried racer is as close to the original as you are going to find, it weighs 1200 kilos with 310bhp.

The vehicle was subject of a complete overhaul from stripped body to bare shell and dipped, (there are a raft of photos to see if required)  a T45 FIA specification cage fitted and a full engine restoration all from a fully road legal good condition 83′ donor.  The gearbox was replaced with a rebuilt FIA Group A specification box, and a new FIA specification 100 litre capacity fuel cell was added. The car currently runs with 310bhp and weights 1200kgs and has passed full HTP check first time and papers issued. With a number of high placed finishes in the European Group A season, including an impressive 2nd at Spa in 2016 and 2nd at the Algarve classic in 2017.

BMW experts Geoff Steel Racing can provide an arrive and drive solution to hassle free racing if required and you could be behind the wheel of this beast as soon as Donington Historic Festival in the Motor Racing Legends – Tony Dron Trophy if you get your skates on and your cheque book open pretty sharpish.

Decorated in the famous Marlboro livery, since the build completion the car has raced successfully in the Peter Auto -Heritage Touring Cup with the following awards: 2016 This car was placed 8th overall (3rd in class) at Jarama, 2nd in class at Spa (both races) 10th overall and 3rd in class at Paul Ricard, 9th (2nd in class) at Imola and in 2017 the same series 10th at Spa (4th in class)  The cars most recent event was at the 2017 Algarve Classic Festival where it finished 13th overall in the Motor Racing Legends  – HTCC 2 hour endurance coming 2nd in class.
