A selection of 70 of the finest classic and sports cars representing the world’s most famous marques will go under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions’ sale at the prestigious Salon Privé at Blenheim Place on Saturday 2nd September.

Ferrari’s are much in evidence including an exceptional 1973 Ferrari Dino 246GT from long term ownership. It was recently subjected to a five year exacting restoration and will be offered with a sale estimate of £275,000 to £325,000.

A rare 1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2, one of only 52 UK right-hand drive examples made, and with an exceptional history, will be offered at £190,000 to £210,000, and an iconic F40 will be offered with an estimate of £875,000 – £975,000.

A speciality for the auction house, 15 best-of-breed Porsches will be available, including an extremely rare, one owner from new, 1989 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo SE ‘Flat Nose’ Cabriolet with a sale estimate of £190,000 to £220,000, and a 1992 Porsche 911 (964) Carrera RS N/GT, one of the rarest 964 RS variants, with just over 14,000 kilometres, estimated at £185,000 to £215,000.

An original UK, right-hand drive 1962 Porsche 356 B 1600 S Coupe with an impressive history file and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, is estimated at £110,000 to £130,000, and a matching numbers, fully restored, 1968 Porsche 911 2.0 SWB with exceptional history estimated at £85,000 to £95,000, also join the Porsche line-up.

An exemplary restoration, matching numbers, 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Roadster is sure to attract Jaguar enthusiasts with an estimate of £125,000 to £150,000, and an equally impressive, unrestored and beautifully maintained 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II Fixedhead Coupé has been given a sale estimate of £65,000 to £75,000.

The sale list includes a number of modern classic cars with motorsport heritage. A UK specification 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Vl ‘Tommi Makinen edition’, one of just 202 made, is to be offered with an estimate of £34,000 to £39,000.

An iconic 1991 BMW E30 M3 supplied new to Germany and extremely popular among collectors will be offered at £60,000 to £70,000.

Adding to the variety of cars on offer, a number of American classics will also cross the block. A 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray ‘Split Window’ Coupé, the ‘Holy Grail’ of muscle cars, first delivered to Daytona Beach, will be offered with a sale estimate of £80,000 to £90,000.

Also, a concours winning, ultra-rare, 1969 Shelby GT500 will be offered at £100,000 to £120,000, and a 2012 Superformance GT40 Mk I Continuation with just 598 miles from new has been estimated at £130,000 to £160,000.

Lamborghini will also have an auction presence, with a UK supplied 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV, one of only 13 left today, available at a sale estimate of £155,000 to £175,000. The Italian supercar is joined by one of the most unusual Lamborghini’s on the market, a 1966 Lamborghini 1R tractor, for the collector who has everything, which is expected to sell for between £15,000 and £20,000.
